The ARI Artists’ Initiative Class will begin on Thursday, September 13th and will continue on Thursdays in September from 3:00-5:00pm.  Participants will be able to work on their artwork.  Class will be open to all interested.  Please contact Gerard Gasparino for more information.

Bocce Practice will take place on Tuesday, September 4th from 4:00-5:00pm at Scalzi Park.  This will be the last practice.  Those competing in the Special Olympics will need to be at Scalzi Park on Saturday, September 8th at 9am.  The Tournament will be all day.    

Golf Practice with Challenged People in Motion will have its last practice on Wednesday, September 5th from 6:00-7:30pm at Sterling Farms Golf Course.  Players must wear their team colored shirt each of the weeks.  The end of year awards dinner will take place on Wednesday, September 19th at the Knights of Columbus from 6:00-9:00pm.

Men’s & Women’s Night Out will take place on Tuesday, September 25th from 5:30-7:30pm.  Catch up with old friends over dinner at a local restaurant.  The cost of dinner will be no more than $25.  This month’s night out will take place at the American Steakhouse in Norwalk.  Please contact Gerard Gasparino for directions.

Other Activities in the area:

The 2nd Annual Music Fest at Jackie Robinson Park across the street from ARI will take place on Sunday, September 30th from 2:00-5:00pm.  The cost for tickets will be $30 at the door, $25 prior to the event and $10 for Seniors/Youth.  Call Unitarian Universalist Church at (203) 565-0127 for more information.

The Jackie Robinson Park of Fame presents “A Journey,” musical one-woman show performed by Kimberly Wilson at the Yerwood Center on Saturday, September 8th from 3:00-5:00pm.  The cost for tickets will be $25 at the door, $20 prior to the event and $10 for Seniors/Youth.  Call (203) 536-4943 for more information.

There will be a GospelFest Concert at Lower Fairfield County Regional Center-146 Silvermine Avenue, Norwalk, CT on Saturday, September 8th beginning at 3:30pm.  This is a free event for all to enjoy.  For more information contact Calvin Chapman at (203) 309-7482.

 

****There will be no Halloween Party this year.  Instead of the Halloween Party we will once again invite all to the 2018 Independence Gala, a formal event, on Friday, October 26th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at The Water’s Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien.  More Information will be sent.
